Trecator-SC (Ethionamide) comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day for 2 months, then once every other day for 4 months, and finally once per week for 6 months. Trecator-SC (Ethionamide) may also be given by injection into a vein or muscle every 3 or 4 weeks.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and rash.
